Footslog English Language Theatre came into being when actor Simon Storey from Australia and director Terry McDonagh from Ireland met in Hamburg at the end of 2002. Terry had been working as writer in residence in Melbourne and Simon had just arrived from Australia with a vast store of theatre experience and both were eager to start something new.

We want to make English theatre more accessible for schools so our philosophy is; if the show doesn’t fit into a suitcase then we won’t do it! Our shows are designed so that the school only has to organise the basics. After the performance date has been arranged Footslog arrive, unpack our suitcase and get on with the show!

Our aim is simple: to provide high quality, exciting English language theatre for students which is relevant to their studies as well as great fun to watch!
